YAD’s notes;
The PS3. A 182 watt 2TFLOP supercomputer. Don’t know what a TFLOP is? Here you go. FLOPS say how fast math can be done on a processor, and since ALL coding equates to turning things on and off, and mathematical calculations, More Flops is More Better.

Lemme show you how to work the PS3 hard drive upgrade. It’s easy.
First, you get a PS3.

Pretty isn’t it?

It’s the CECHH model, 40GB. I hated the small, itty hard drive that was in there, so I changed it.

Pop that sucker off, and unscrew the..Well the screw, and pull out the cage.

Lo! Yonder be the hard disk! I’ve already put an 80GB in my console, waiting for newegg to restock the scorpio 160’s before I order another one.

The PS3 is a marvel and wonder of modern engineering. 2Tflop home console, that not only folds right up there with the best, it can also run PPC versions of Linux–AND windows XP, if you’re daring. There’s enough memory divided up in the console to do just about anything but game in the other OSes, but if you ask me, XMB works JUST fine for everything else. Here soon, in June I believe, they’re going to make the OS threadable, so that you can be playin’ Burnout Paradise, and then hit the home button, and then use the internet browser while playing. Tell me how bitchin’ cool that’s gonna be. Integrated installs for every game copies core components, such as Engine data, frequently used sounds and textures, large video files, and all that allow that content to load nearly INSTANTLY every time it’s used. We’re also about to get FreeRealms, a Home-killer, made by SONY to defeat SONY. Wow, talk about a Mobieus strip. It folds, has a web browser, plays a ton of videos, audio, pictures, DVD’s, Blu-Ray movies, 7 players, 8 bluetooth devices, a kickin’ awesome quad channel mic array’d webcam, PS1 on all models, PS2 on the CECHAxx, CECHBxx, CECHCxx, and CECHExx models. What more can you ask for?

EDIT:// 18-05 the 2.75 update somehow improved my MGS4 frame rate. It went up from 31 to 60 in more full-filtered areas, so I’m thinking they went ahead and unlocked another core for games.
